Tom Surrette was appointed senior vice president of operations in 2022, where he is responsible for setting up scalable mass volume production of Enovix battery cells. Tom is a seasoned technology executive, with over 30 years of experience spanning global operations, human resources, business unit management and engineering. Among his many roles, he has previously served as Cypress Semiconductor’s senior vice president of worldwide operations where he was responsible for planning and delivery of more than 5,000 products built at dozens of factories globally.
Tom joined Enovix as vice president of human resources in 2021 and was responsible for talent acquisition and management, leadership development and learning, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
Tom began his career in engineering roles at Phillips/Signetics, before joining Cypress. At Cypress, he took on roles in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and product development before being named business unit director for micropower SRAM. From there, he spent nearly a decade running business units, including as vice president for non-volatile memory in 2005. In his business unit leadership roles Tom oversaw acquisitions, licensing, development, and manufacturing agreements with business partners. He also served on the board of directors for Simtek Corporation. In 2007, he was named senior vice president of worldwide operations for Cypress and was later promoted to executive vice president of human resources in 2008. In 2014, Tom founded ServiceQ LLC, a business consulting and software development company.
He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A from Santa Clara University. He is a named inventor on 5 patents.
