Dr. James Wilcox
Dr. James Wilcox is the Vice President of Business Development and leads the Enovix Mobility team where he is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the electric vehicle program including product definition, business development and customer engagement.
James has over 20 years of experience in the battery industry and originally joined Enovix in 2008 as part of the core engineering team that developed the company’s proprietary stacked cell architecture. Between 2008 and 2017 he held numerous R&D roles focused on cell development and performance optimization. After a brief stint with Apple working in a Special Projects Group in 2018, he returned to Enovix as the Director of Strategy and Operations to lead strategic business development before being named head of Enovix Mobility in 2022.
James holds a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering with a Designated Emphasis in Energy Science and Technology and a Masters of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Bates College. He has 7 patents related to battery materials, processing and cell design.
